Chelsea South American target on the verge to leave for China

According to the French publication L’Equipe, Chelsea could miss out the signing of another transfer target as Paris Saint-Germain winger, Ezequiel Lavezzi could also take a part in massive exodus of top-class players in China.

The 30-year-old Paris Saint-Germain attacker only has five months of his current contract remaining and ESPN report he will snub a move to Stamford Bridge and join Chinese Super League side Guoan Beijing. The Chinese giants, who are managed by Italian head coach Alberto Zaccheroni are keen to get the signature of former Napoli star.

During January transfer window, Chinese clubs have already completed several shocking transfers, with Ramires (£25m), Jackson Martinez (£31.50m) and Alex Teixeira (£37.7m) all signing for Super League clubs in the last week.

Chelsea have already missed out to sign former Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez, who was also linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

Martinez joined Atletico last summer from Porto for around €35m, but he has failed to impress at the Calderon. He dropped down the pecking order at the club, after managing only two goals in 15 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side.

The 29-year-old was linked with a move to Chelsea in a potential swap deal for Diego Costa in the January transfer window, but the deal didn’t materialise in the end, as the Blues were unwilling to sell Costa.

It is believed that the super agent of the player Jorge Mendes has played a major role in getting a favourable deal for all the parties involved here.
