Chelsea’s legendary former striker and current Al-Arabi boss Gianfranco Zola believes that there may be interest in signing John Terry from “all” of the Qatari clubs this summer, when the defender’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires.
The 35-year-old defender revealed last month that he will end his 21-year association with Chelsea at the end of the season, as his contract will not be renewed.
Terry – who earns a reported £150,000-per-week (via the Daily Mail) – has insisted he would not play for another club in England.
Zola, who played alongside Terry for Chelsea over a decade ago, has touted Qatar as a potential option.
John Terry has won 15/27 attempted tackles (56%) in the league this season.

The Italian has managed in the Gulf state since last year, with his side currently in fifth position in the table.
On Terry, he told The Sun: “When we talk about John Terry, we are talking about a big player, big name and I believe a player of this stature is not of interest only for the team, but also for the whole league.
“I believe the Qatari league is a league that wants to grow bigger so I believe there might be interest not only from Al-Arabi but there might be interest from all the Qatari league.”
Ahead of the World Cup in 2022, clubs in the Qatar Stars League are seemingly trying to tempt renowned players to the country, in order to raise the profile and reputation of the game in the country.
A number of international players have made the move there over the last couple of seasons, but compared to Major League Soccer and now the Chinese Super League, the signings haven’t been as high-profile, with the exception of Xavi, who joined Al-Sadd last year.
Consequently, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see clubs try and secure a deal for Terry as he would certainly be an eye-catching addition.
Although he looks set to depart the Blues, Terry has been a key player this term, winning 66% of his headed duels across 20 Premier League games in 2015/16.
He also has a better pass accuracy (90%) than any of his teammates in the league this season.
