The Italian outlet La Repubblica, claims that incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is holding talks over a deal for Roma defender Antonio Rudiger.
The 23-year-old is one of Germany’s best up-and-coming defenders and is seemingly on the radar of the west London outfit, as Conte looks to start his revolution in the summer at Stamford Bridge.
The Berlin-born centre-back has made appearances for the German national side, and it seems like the young man has quite a future on the international scene.
It’s believed that Conte is to hold talks with Rudiger’s brother, to get the ball rolling with regards to a transfer from Roma to Chelsea.
Our Chelsea fans over by the jukebox here in the Transfer Tavern feel this would be a fantastic bit of business for the club, especially with John Terry looking set to depart Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The 6ft3 powerhouse has been huge for Giallorossi, making 24 Serie A appearances has won 27 tackles this season with a success rate of 55%. He has also made 36 interceptions, 94 clearances and seven blocks.
