Done Deal? £50m Chelsea Target Gives Massive Hints Of A Done Deal

John Stones may have inadvertently left a massive transfer hint for fans of Premier League football.

The defender has been a subject of intense interest from top EPL clubs for several seasons now, with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all linked with a move for the 21-year-old at one point.

However, fresh evidence suggests that he could eventually move to Manchester City over the summer. The England international was spotted alongside fellow Everton teammate Ross Barkeley at the Etihad stadium on Tuesday. He was present to watch the UEFA Champions League game between City and Real Madrid which ended in a barren draw.

Consequently, this has spewed fuel on rumours of a potential exit to the Etihad stadium. The Mirror even reports that Everton has lined up a possible replacement for the centre-back, as Middleborough Ben Gibson is now touted to replace him next season.

Stones has not performed admirably this season, and the Toffees would be regretting why they failed to cash in on the player when Chelsea placed a reported £40 million bid last summer. With his recent inconsistent performance which came to a fore in the 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool, they will be hoping that potential clubs meet his £50 million valuation.

Ignoring the reports linking him out of his current club, the player’s decision to grace a Champions League venue shows he is hungry to play in Europe’s elite competition – a commodity a rather struggling Everton cannot afford him.
