Ray Wilkins has played up the important role that John Terry could play for Antonio Conte next season if he is handed a new contract.
The club captain is yet to be offered a new deal at Stamford Bridge and looks destined to leave the club after over a decade of success.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Wilkins believes that Conte will want to keep the captain around.
John Terry is an exceptional player and he will be for the next couple of years, whether he is at Chelsea or elsewhere and I think Antonio will want to use his experience, picking his brains a touch as to what he is actually coming into.It was announced that Conte will take over the helm at Chelsea when Guus Hiddink steps down at the end of the season, it has even been reported that Conte will be able to have the final say on whether or not Terry gets a new contract.
Terry, who has yet to be offered a new deal by the club, could play an important role in helping Conte adjust to the club and the helping the current crop of players adjust to the Italian.
