Hiddink hints at Remy and Falcao to stay put

Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink expects his squad to stay the same between now and the end of the season, with no move for either LoĂ¯c Remy or Radamel Falcao.

This season both Remy and Falcao have struggled for form and fitness, with the pair managing just 19 appearances and two goals between them in the Premier League so far.

There has been plenty of speculation over the past few weeks that both are subject to serious interest from China and could be on the move before the deadline passes.

This speculation has increased following the arrival of Alexandre Pato on loan from Corinthians but Hiddink said in his press conference ahead of the Newcastle game that he expects the squad to remain the same.

Whilst not directly referencing Falcao or Remy this would appear to suggest that the Dutchman is reluctant to lose either of them before the end of the season.

Given Pato’s lack of match fitness, and Costa’s propensity to injure himself you can understand his point.

If Remy and Falcao were let go, and either of the other two forwards got injured Hiddink would be left with only Bertrand Traoré unless he wanted to play with a false nine.

A lot of Chelsea fans would probably want to see TraorĂ© play but given how rarely Hiddink’s used the youngster so far it seems unlikely he would happy turning to him, having let two more experienced players leave.
