Chelsea ready to let Pato leave the club early?

Chelsea are reportedly ready to send Alexandre Pato back to Corinthians before the end of the season.

According to Brazilian outlet Lance!, the club are prepared to send Pato back after he has failed to make a mark in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.

The former AC Milan man joined the club during the January transfer window on loan when it looked like Loic Remy would leave the club. However, Remy remained at the club and Radamel Falcao has also completed his return to full fitness.

As well Remy and Falcao, he has also had to compete with Bertrand Traore, who has made himself Chelsea’s second choice striker under Guus Hiddink.

When the striker arrived at Stamford Bridge, he was severely lacking match fitness. He was put on a special pre-season-like training reign in order to get up to speed. Pato was named on the bench against Stoke but didn’t make it onto the pitch.

Despite the lack of action at Chelsea, some reports across Europe have even claimed that Barcelona were monitoring the striker’s situation ahead of a possible summer move.
