Chelsea transfer news: Jamal Blackman loaned to Swedish club Ostersunds MK

Chelsea have continued their policy of continually loaning out young players by sending goalkeeper Jamal Blackman to Swedish club Ostersunds MK.

Blackman is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues and he has only played once at professional level while on loan with Middlesbrough last season, when he started at Anfield against Liverpool.

He is Guus Hiddink’s fourth choice at Chelsea but the chances of him ever getting his chance at the Stamford Bridge club is slim, and it would require a serious injury crisis at the club for it to happen.

So, as a remedy for the situation and to hand him vital first-team experience, Chelsea have sent him on loan to Ostersunds in Sweden, according to the Swedish club’s official website.

Blackman will hope that he endures a successful spell with the Swedes which could potentially put his talents in the show window this summer.
The 22-year-old is still yet to regularly impress at a professional level so he’ll be desperate to do well after winning the FA Youth Cup in 2012 with the Blues and then the Under-21 Premier League title two years ago.

With Asmir Begović playing second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea, his only hope is to do well and potentially earn a move elsewhere when the new manager arrives in the summer, but it is an excellent opportunity for the young goalkeeper to showcase his talents in the continent.
