Pato heading for exit door

Chelsea could be ready to terminate Alexandre Pato’s loan spell at the club as he struggles to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazilian arrived from Corinthians during the transfer window in the hope of boosting Chelsea's attack, but he has yet to make a first-team appearance.

Pato is already behind Diego Costa, Bertrand Traore and Loic Remy in the pecking order, and with Radamel Falcao closing in on a return to action his chances of playing any football are slim to say the least.

The former AC Milan star is said to be picking up £30,000-a-week and Chelsea would prefer to get him off the wage bill if he has little chance of making an impact.

Pato's lack of fitness has not helped matters, with interim boss Guus Hiddink revealing he needs a full pre-season behind him having not played since November.
