Radja Nainggolan dismisses rumours linking him to Chelsea

AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has dismissed rumours that state he’s told close friends that he’s joining Chelsea, as he reveals that he’s not actually spoken to any clubs.

Nainggolan has been strongly linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer market as Antonio Conte – the former Juventus manager – is set to take over at Stamford Bridge and would like to tap into Serie A’s talent pool.

The Belgian midfielder, as well as his Roma teammate Miralem Pjanic, has been linked with a summer move to Chelsea but Nainggolan has moved quickly to dispel any further rumours after hearing the latest one.

The 27-year-old heard that he’d apparently told his close friends about signing for Chelsea later this year, but he’s taken to Twitter to dismiss those rumours before they picked up any pace, while also reaffirming his commitment to Roma.

He wrote on Twitter: “If I’ve not spoken to any club yet, why would I have spoken about it to my friends? Forza Roma and Forza Belgium tonight!”

Nainggolan has made 28 appearances for AS Roma this season in Serie A, missing just two matches. He’s been exceptional from midfield too, scoring three times and creating 31 chances – the fourth most at the club.

On top of that, he’s attempted 100 tackles and also completed 20 out of 34 attempted take-ons, helping build the play through from deep within midfield and linking with the likes of Pjanic and Alessandro Florenzi.
