The Blues parted ways with Jose Mourinho back in December and brought in Hiddink for the second time in recent years to steady the ship until the end of the season.
However, the Dutch tactician has done more than just that and Chelsea are remarkably unbeaten since he took charge, winning six of their 11 Premier League games.
Despite Hiddink working his magic, there are strong suggestions Italy’s current manager Antonio Conte will move to Stamford Bridge in the summer – a move Parlour cannot seem to take in easily.
.
“Conte looks like he is getting the job but everybody is playing well under Hiddink. He has gone back to basics, everybody is smiling and everybody is playing well – why not carry it on for next season?
“He has got a good coaching staff around him and he can have a real go at trying to win the Premier League back.”
Conte may be the ideal solution in the long term – the Lecce-born coach is just 46 – and it seems almost a formality that he will become Chelsea’s next long-term boss.
