Chelsea ready to beat Arsenal for €50m-rated Spain No.9


Defending Premier League champions Chelsea look to have joined the race to seal the transfer of Serie A giants Juventus striker and Arsenal target Alvaro Morata.

Former Real Madrid star has impressed since his move from Real Madrid to Juve last season, scoring 25 goals in 88 appearances for the Italians.

Premier League giants have been short of quality up front this season, leading to speculation that they could re-sign in-form striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

However, Calciomercato now claim the Blues are also looking into signing Morata following the appointment of Antonio Conte as their new manager.

Ex-Juventus boss is thought to be a huge fan of the Spaniard forward, but will face competition from Arsenal, with French manager Arsene Wenger is desperate to lure striker at Emirates.

Morata is Good in the air and at holding up the ball, with clinical finishing ability, quick feet and excellent movement, He drew comparisons to Real Madrid and Spain’s Fernando Morientes due to his playing style.  During his first season at Serie  A giants Juventus, he stood out for his pace, energy and work-rate on the pitch, while his technique, opportunism and positional sense saw him score several crucial goals and could do the same for Chelsea or Arsenal if he makes Premier League move.
