Premier League stars weren’t always so fashionable: Former Chelsea man Jody Morris shows off the dodgy suits of John Terry, Frank Lampard and Co

If you think footballers' dress sense is hit and miss today, have a look at some of the outfits on display in this picture of Chelsea stars of yesteryear.
The photograph, taken during Christmas festivities sometime around the turn of the millennium, was shared by former Blues midfielder Jody Morris on Instagram on Thursday.
In it, Morris is pictured with Eidur Gudjohnsen, Mario Melchiot, William Gallas, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Frank Lampard and John Terry at an event during the festive period.

Morris, who posted the image with the caption '#ThrowbackThursday absolute classic', sported a jacket-and-jeans look, while former Iceland international Gudjohnsen also opted for an open-neck shirt for the event.
Melchiot matched his energetic character with a swanky purple suit and tie but Hasselbaink - now the manager of QPR - leaves a lot to be desired with his beige-brown jacket-and-tie combination.
Lampard may well have modelled his look on an academic, with his brown chinos and shiny, pin-stripe jacket putting his future captain at Stamford Bridge, Terry, to shame. The fresh-faced defender chose neither to wear a tie nor tuck in his shirt for the occasion.

Where are they now?
Jody Morris: The diminutive midfielder made 193 appearances for Chelsea before moving to Leeds in 2003.
He subsequently played for Rotherham, Millwall, St Johnstone and Bristol City and is currently the assistant under 18 coach at Stamford Bridge.

Eidur Gudjohnsen: Now 37, the peroxide-blonde forward is currently on the books of Molde in Norway, having recently returned to English football with Bolton.
After leaving Chelsea he enjoyed a successful spell at Barcelona. His son, Daniel Tristan, has been signed by Barca.

Mario Melchiot: After five years with the Blues, Melchiot joined Birmingham in 2004 and finished his career with stints at Rennes and Wigan.
Having often insisted that he always wanted to be a policeman, it is perhaps surprising that the Dutchman often pops up as a pundit on foreign broadcasts of the Premier League.
That's when he's not busy feeding a healthy appetite for social media.

William Gallas: The man to rely on for a moment of random insanity, Gallas moved to Arsenal in 2006.
He spent four years with the Gunners before changing his Tube stop and signing for Tottenham, where he remained until 2013.
The French international retired in 2014 and has kept himself to himself since.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink: The Dutchman remained in England after leaving Chelsea and saw out his career with Middlesbrough, Charlton and Cardiff before moving into management.
After taking tiny Burton to the cusp of promotion to the Championship earlier this season, he was appointed to the top job at QPR.

Frank Lampard: The Blues' record goalscorer became a club idol in the years after this picture was taken, netting 211 times before announcing his decision to relocate to MLS.
As it was, Lampard ended up playing - and scoring - against Chelsea for Manchester City.

John Terry: Now into what looks like being his final season at Stamford Bridge, the defender recently went through the 700 appearance barrier.
