Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 33 : Injury updates, tips and suggestions"

UEFA Champions League and Europa League quarter finals have come to an end and all eyes will again be turned towards the Premier League encounters this weekend. It is going to be more interesting for the Fantasy Premier League managers for this is going to be the first time two sides will have double matches in one week.

With only a handful of matches to go, Leicester City are now in a good position to secure their maiden surprise Premier League title. But, the other teams will also try their hearts out to aim for the silverware. All in all, we are in for a tempting Premier League weekend and here are some suggestions and relevant news for the Fantasy Premier League managers.

Overview:

The week will kick off with Arsenal’s testing trip to West Ham. Southampton, Chelsea, Leicester City and Manchester City have easy fixtures against Newcastle, Swansea, Sunderland and West Bromwich, respectively. Liverpool, fresh from their Europa League away win at Dortmund, will play host to Stoke City while Tottenham and Manchester United will lock horns to settle out the differences at White Hart Lane.

On the other hand, Everton and Crystal Palace are going to play two matches this week. The Eagles will welcome Norwich and Everton to their home. Incidentally, Everton have away matches in both occasions, the other match being against Watford. Complete fixtures of gameweek 33 are given below.

Injuries and suspensions:

Injuries are indispensable parts of the game, especially for such a long league. Here are the updates about some of the most important players of the Fantasy Premier League.

Jack Butland: The Stoke City goalkeeper has been the favourite custodian for more than 16% managers. However, an ankle injury has ruled him out for a long time and it is not sure whether he will be able to return to action anytime soon.

Robert Elliot: Both the goalkeepers of the Magpies (Tim Krul and Elliot) are now injured and Karl Darlow will have to stick between the posts this time again.

Vincent Kompany: The Manchester City captain will probably return to the starting eleven after two weeks and that means, he will miss the double gameweek in the next one.

Yaya Toure: The Ivorian midfielder will miss the fixture against West Bromwich but he is expected back next week. With two matches for Manuel Pellegrini’s men in the next week, it will be wise to keep him in the squad if you already have him.

Aaron Ramsey: He has not played any part in the last two weeks. Although he is almost recovered, with the good form the midfielders showed in the last couple of games, Arsene Wenger may choose not to start with him.

Willian: A knock did not let him play in the last game. However, the Brazilian is almost fit and may take the field this week.

Raheem Sterling: The former Liverpool man has a groin injury and he will probably not return before May. So, it would be wise to get rid of him.

Diego Costa: The Chelsea forward is serving a suspension and will return to action next week.

Others: Long term injured Glen Johnson, Kurt Zouma, Jan Vertonghen and Wayne Rooney will miss the action yet again. Besides, Eric Lamela, Xherdan Shaqiri, Daley Blind are unsure too. Christian Benteke, Jonathan Walters and Steven Davis are expected to be out as well.
Tips and suggestions:

Fantasy Premier League managers should remember that ten teams have two matches next week and Crystal Palace and Everton have two matches in each of these two weeks. So, it would be wise to have Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley, Yannick Bolasie, Yohan Cabaye or Jason Puncheon in your ranks. On the other hand, keeping next week’s fixtures in mind, Arsenal players Hector Bellerin, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will come in useful. Same is true for influential players from the two Manchester sides. If you can have at least one of Chris Smalling, Bacary Sagna, Anthony Martial, David Silva or Sergio Aguero in your Fantasy Premier League team, it will help you rack some points up in the coming weeks.

Fantasy Premier League captain:

Since Everton have two games this week, Romelu Lukaku is probably one of the best choices to be made your captain this week. Among others, Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, Philippe Coutinho are good choices too. Managers interested in taking a risk with a defender may opt for Bacary Sagna, Virgil Van Dijk or Robert Huth.
