But their bank balance could be set to take a hit this summer… and it’s all down to former hero Jose Mourinho.

The Blues are keen on taking Everton striker Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

But the south west London club may have to splash out as much as £65million for the Belgian because Mourinho ‘ditched’ a ‘buy-back’ clause in the deal.

Chelsea sold Lukaku in 2014 for £28m but failed to include a ‘first refusal’ caveat because the former Real Madrid chief ‘didn’t believe he was up to it’, reports The Sun.

So if we take the £65m they are set to pay – minus the £28m they received – that’s an excess of £37m.
