Jose Mourinho Sends Classy Congratulatory Message to Leicester and Claudio Ranieri

Jose Mourinho has sent a classy congratulatory message to Leicester City’s players and their manager Claudio Ranieri.

As just about everyone on planet Earth knows by now, Ranieri and his Foxes squad made history last night by clinching their first top-flight Premier League title in 132-years of history, at odds of 5000/1 against.

The achievement was confirmed when second-placed Tottenham could only manage a 2-2 draw at Chelsea, and Mourinho has gone out of his way to congratulate a manager he hasn’t always seen eye-to-eye with.

Mourinho replaced Ranieri as Chelsea manager in 2004, going on to win the Premier League in his first two seasons – a feat that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich didn’t think Ranieri would be capable of.

Mourinho and Ranieri came across each other again whilst working  in Italy, where the pair exchanged a series of barbed comments, but it appears their relationship has been somewhat repaired.

Speaking to CAA Sports earlier today, via The Mirror, Mourinho said: “I want to congratulate everyone connected to Leicester; players, staff, owners and fans.
“I lost my title to Claudio Ranieri and it is with incredible emotion that I live this magic moment in his career.”

Short and sweet from the Special One, but at least he was able to show an ounce of humility.

Well done, Jose!
