Brazilian International all set to become Chelsea’s first summer signing

Chelsea have made an approach to sign the Brazilian International defender Juan Jesus, according to concrete reports from FC Inter News.

The 25-year old has been constantly linked with Chelsea in recent seasons and with an injury to Antonio Rudiger, Blues have gone back to Jesus to find a solution to their defensive crisis.

Jesus signed for Inter Milan back in 2013 and has played consistent football in all these years. However, Serie A outfit are willing to make the most from the defender’s sale who is valued in the region of €10million.

According to FC Inter News, Conte has been an admirer of Juan Jesus and even tried to sign him during his Juventus days. After losing out to Inter on the first go, the Italian manager is looking to get his man this time around.
Chances of Juan Jesus signing for Chelsea – 3.5/5

I do expect this transfer to go ahead purely on the basis of Conte’s admiration for the player and his proposed tactics next season.

It seems obvious that Conte would go with a 3-5-2 formation at Stamford Bridge and will need strong defenders to make sure that the system works effectively.

At present, Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill are the only dependable options for Conte with John Terry being an able cover if need be.

Despite Leonardo Bonucci’s constant rumours, Jesus is expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge and complete Conte’s defensive formation ahead of the next season.

Blues will need to cough-up something in the region of €10-12million to sign the Inter Milan defender but given his abilities on the ball, I expect him to be a constant presence in Conte’s starting XI next season.
