Chelsea considering stunning £38m move for South American No.5

The UOL Esporte has reported that Chelsea are desperately chasing for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain’s highly-rated defender Marquinhos, who has also been monitored by other Premier League top clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City.

The versatile Brazilian defender is reportedly looking to leave the Ligue 1 giants during the summer transfer window, having failed to get into a first-team starting berth over countrymen Thiago Silva and David Luiz.

La Liga giants Barcelona remain keen to sign the Brazil international, as planning to strengthen defensive abilities in the summer with Marquinho’s compatriot Dani Alves linked with the departure from Nou Camp.

Ligue 1 champions PSG full-back is reported to be in talks with Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United – despite the latest rumours linking him with a move to Nou Camp.

Despite the fact that Marquinhos is willing to leave, the League 1 champions are only considering to sell him for a significant fee and reportedly value the defender at a whopping £38m, having already turned down a £31m bid.

PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi still rates the ex-AS Roma star highly, viewing him as a long-term successor to their captain Thiago Silva at the heart of the French champions defence.
