According to the reports from Express, Chelsea are are closing in on the signing of Juventus versatile full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner, who has been linked with a departure from the Serie A giants.
The 32-year-old Swiss international has attracted interest from Premier League top club in the past, Arsenal were the most active.
The Blues incoming boss is planning a major overhaul of his squad in the summer and improving defensive areas is a priority.
Chelsea have already missed out on Antonio Rudiger, who completed his £6.8m switch from Stuttgart to AS Roma.
But according to Italian football journalist Emanuele Giulianelli, Lichtsteiner could be Stamford Bridge bound.
He tweeted: “Lichtsteiner yes to Conte on Saturday. He could join Chelsea when Dani Alves will be official to Juventus. €11mln the price, 3 years deal.”
Antonio Conte knows the Swiss star well having previously managed him during his time at Juventus.
Though the Italian champions are closing in on signing right-back Alves, the club’s general director Guiseppe Marotta, insists Lichtsteiner is not for sale.
He said: “He is an important player and he will continue at Juventus.”
