Thibaut Courtois has conceded that Chelsea have no chance of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season.
The Blues stormed to the English title in the previous campaign and were expected to make a strong challenge for the trophy once again.
However, the club have been on the wrong side of a number of results this term and have already suffered nine defeats, leaving a Champions League spot out of reach.
Chelsea, who are currently under the guidance of Guus Hiddink after the Dutchman took over from Jose Mourinho on an interim basis, are 14 points adrift of Manchester City in fourth, and are 28/1 with Titanbet to make the top four this season.
Courtois, who will be number one for Belgium at Euro 2016, admits getting into the top four is unrealistic and the team must focus on other ways to get into Europe's elite competition next season.
"We are doing well and we can maybe move up the table, but top four is out of the question," he said. "I think the most important is the FA Cup and the Champions League. That's our main aim."
