Chelsea ready to cut star striker’s deal short over attitude problems

Chelsea are understood to be unhappy with Alexandre Pato and are willing to let him leave the club next summer, according recent reports.

Pato, moved to the Stamford Bridge in January on a loan move from Cornithians. He is yet to make an appearance for the club and has not got a real chance of proving himself since his move to the Premier League.

He has his fitness problems but The Blues are understood to be unhappy with the player’s progress at the club and are ready to cut his deal short already.

Brazilian source Lance stated that Chelsea are not satisfied with the 26-year old’s level of commitment and are ready to cut the loan deal short as he has not been able to keep himself match fit since his move to the Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool and Chelsea were in a battle to sign the striker according to rumors and his lack of fitness has left Liverpool feel like they have dodged a bullet in January.

Pato is earning £30k-a-week at Chelsea and has cost the club a staggering £200k so far and without pulling on his No.11 shirt as yet.

That wage places him at roughly 50% of what the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek is earning to see about the same amount of action for the first team.

Though these are not huge amounts for a club of Chelsea’s stature, it is understandable that they want to cut their losses and get in a proper squad player to replace Pato in the summer.

Chelsea’s decision to let Pato leave has surfaced following the rumours linking Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a move to Stamford Bridge next summer.
