The Blues out-form winger praises Legendary captain

Belgian superstar Eden Hazard has said that John Terry will leave as a legend if the centre-back departs Chelsea at the end of the campaign.

Former England international captain Terry is out of contract at the end of June, and, as things stand, is yet to be offered fresh terms by the club where he has spent the entirety of his senior career to date.

Hazard told Chelsea TV: “JT is a legend for the club, all the players and the staff really, really respect him.

“I don’t know about his contract, but if he leaves he will leave like a legend.”

Although Terry has struggled for consistency in recent years, he remains a fine distributor of the ball, as demonstrated by the fact that he has an average pass accuracy of 93% in the Premier League this season.

Terry lifted the Premier League trophy aloft at the end of last season, but Chelsea endured a miserable first half of the campaign this time around, which led to the dismissal of manager Jose Mourinho.

Captain appears determined to prolong his Chelsea career, but it remains to be seen whether the club will offer him a new deal.

It is clear that Chelsea’s central-defence is in need of an overhaul, with the club searching for a long-term partner for the hugely talented Kurt Zouma. Gary Cahill is 30 and hasn’t been at his best this season, while Papy Djilobodji was sent out on loan after he barely featured for the club in the first half of the season.

Chelsea brought in Matt Miazga in January, but the United States international is yet to play a senior game for the Blues, and the club may look to bring in another centre-back in the summer should Terry depart.
