Will Claudio Ranieri live to regret his tears at the Stadium of Light??

Claudio Ranieri is not the man to show his emotions that easily be it on the pitch or during his press conferences. However, Leicester’s 2-0 win over Sunderland got the better of Italian when he shed few tears of joy and relief.

Ranieri’s tears may have come from the sheer relief after Jamie Vardy’s brace against Sunderland after a tough away game. The Black Cats had managed to keep Leicester at bay for best part of an hour and fears of a wobble had started coming through.

Traveling Leicester fans and Ranieri must have started to imagine the possibilities of The Foxes drawing against Sunderland and Tottenham catching on to them in coming weeks. However, Vardy stepped up and ensured Leicester maintained their 7 point gap at the top.

Despite the win, Ranieri shedding his tears may come back to haunt him as it showed as if they have already won the league. The way Spurs played last night against Manchester United, this league is very much alive and waiting for its final turning point.

Leicester are yet to play against West Ham, Manchester United and Chelsea in their remaining 5 games needing minimum 3 wins to secure the title. In comparison, Spurs have the easier run-in and the 7-point gap can still be caught.

Mauricio Pochettino can use pictures of Ranieri in tears as a motivation for his players. Spurs manager can show to his players how Leicester think they have won the league and it can really fire Spurs to the league title this season.

If that ends up being the case Claudio Ranieri will once again miss out on a league title (like he did with Chelsea, Inter and Monaco) and he may live to regret his emotional act at the Stadium of Light.
