John Terry has crowned an Arsenal legend his toughest-ever opponent, saying Thierry Henry is the greatest player he’s even played against.
After playing every minute of Chelsea’s Premier League campaign last season, it looks as though the 2016/17 season could be Terry’s last, with the veteran defender unlikely to be offered a new deal by the Stamford Bridge club.
And reflecting on more than 15 years playing in one of the toughest leagues in the world, Terry reckons that Henry stands head and shoulders above the rest of his star-studded opponents.

In an interview with Goal.com, Terry lauds Henry with praise, and says: “The toughest would be Thierry Henry, he was special.”
Terry also played with several world class partners in his trophy-laden career, and his pick as his best-ever partner was an easy one, with the classy Portuguese defender Ricardo Carvalho ahead of everyone at club level – with Rio Ferdinand beating off competition from the likes of Sol Campbell and Jamie Carragher when he reflects on England duty.

Chelsea fans – what do you think of Terry’s choices? Has he missed anyone out?
