Chelsea Transfer Roundup: Lopez, Batshuayi, Diego Costa and More

Chelsea getting closer to agree Diego Lopez transfer move

According to the English media sources, Chelsea are reportedly willing to get the signature of AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez.
The Blues’ both current first-team goalkeeper have been linked with moves away in recent times, though for different reasons.

As per the Daily Star, Chelsea’s First-choice Thibaut Courtois is supposedly a target for 11-time European champions Real Madrid, while another shot-stopper Asmir Begovic is said to be seeking regular opportunities elsewhere.
Neither player displayed their best form last campaign as Chelsea had a disappointing season, which led to a 10th-placed Premier League finish.
Asmir Begovic conceded at a rate of 1.41 goals per game, while Belgian goalkeeper stood at a marginally better 1.26.
And Now, as per the Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Blues are targeting former Real Madrid star Diego Lopez.
Antonio Conte’s side are approaching an agreement for the Milan No.1, the source suggests, with Begovic first set to depart.
The same sources also claim Lopez has been offered a three-year contract by the west London club. The veteran keeper himself endured a difficult season in Serie A, with teenager Gianluigi Donnarumma having remarkably taken his place in the starting XI.

Michy Batshuayi passes medical at Chelsea

The reports from the Sky Sports claim that Belgian starlet Michy Batshuayi is edging closer to a move to Chelsea after undergoing a medical in Bordeaux.
The 22-year-old Belgian international, who has been eliminated at Euro 2016 by Wales, has been linked with a host of top European clubs after scoring 17 goals for Marseille in Ligue 1 last campaign.
Former Standard Liege ace was given special dispensation to leave the Belgium camp by head coach Marc Wilmots and had a meeting with Chelsea’s team doctor in Bordeaux ahead of a £33 million move to West London.
Batshuayi has passed his medical on Wednesday afternoon and the player’s representatives are confident a deal will be finalised by the weekend.
The highly-demanded forward has attracted offers from other Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Crystal Palace while his Belgium team mate Toby Alderweireld said that he hoped the striker would join him at Tottenham Hotspur next term.
However, the talented Belgian is now expected to become Antonio Conte’s first signing as Chelsea’s head coach despite the club not being able to offer European football.
The striker was due to appear at Belgium’s news conference this week but was pulled out shortly after midday at the request of his current club Marseille.

Chelsea open talks with Atletico Madrid over Diego Costa transfer move

According to the Daily Star, La Liga giants Atletico Madrid have opened talks with Chelsea over a summer move for Diego Costa as they target a new top-class striker for next season.
The Champions League finalists have money to spend from the sale of Jackson Martinez to Chinese giants Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao. It is believed that La Liga giants also have improved television rights money.
Diego Simeone is also chasing for the signature of Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli and Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but Deigo Costa is considered the more realistic option.
The Blues are aware their Spanish striker is unsettled and is interested in a return to Vicente Calderon.
Antonio Conte’s side have already agreed to sign Belgian Michy Batshuayi from Marseille but retain a strong interest in Real Madrid ace Alvaro Morata.
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku from Everton and Gonzalo Higuain are also on their radar but both are expected to be more expensive with Lukaku now valued at around £70 million. The powerful Belgian revealed that he wants to leave the Toffees over the summer in order to further his career.

The 20-year-old Reece Mitchell rejects Chelsea contract offer

According to the English media sources, Chelsea youngster Reece Mitchell has revealed he rejected a contract extension at Stamford Bridge side to join Chesterfield.
The highly-demanded youngster has completed a move to the League One club yesterday ahead of his deal at Stamford Bridge expiring this week.
The 22-year-old starlet had been a regular for the Blues’ Under-21s but was unable to break into the first team and opted to make a move to Chesterfield.
During his interview, Mitchell has told the Spireites’ website: “I had a really good season in the Under-21s season at Chelsea and I was offered another year but I wanted to play some first-team football and get some league experience.
“So when Chesterfield showed interest, I was really happy and was raring to go. I couldn’t say ‘no’ to Chesterfield. I’m really happy to be here and I’m excited about the challenge.
“I know they’re a club pushing for promotion. Last season was not the best season, but the season before that, they got to the play-offs and did really well.
“The manager here likes to play young players, has a good philosophy and the upcoming season looks promising.”
