Chelsea’s new manager Antonio Conte won’t be afraid of allowing club legend John Terry leave in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Italian football expert James Horncastle, who used the example of Conte’s handling of Alessandro Del Piero during his time at Juventus.
The long-serving forward was adored by Juve fans, but had passed his peak by the time Conte arrived, and was promptly offloaded.
Terry’s future is now in serious doubt as well, with recent reports claiming the new Blues boss was planning talks with a number of players ahead of taking over next season.
The 35-year-old defender is a likely early casualty of the Conte era, having looked noticeably off the pace at times in this disappointing season.
