Arturo Vidal insists he’s very happy at Bayern Munich amid Chelsea interest

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte may struggle to sign Arturo Vidal this summer after the midfielder insisted he is very happy at current club Bayern Munich.

Conte is set to join up with the Blues after taking charge of Italy at Euro 2016 and the 46-year-old is known to be a big admirer of the Chile international after working with him for three years at Juventus.

But Vidal, who joined Bayern from Juve last summer, has made a possible move to West London look more unlikely after affirming his loyalty to the Bavarian club.

He told BioBio, as reported by The Evening Standard: “I am very happy here. I have to think about my family and I still have time on my contract.”

The 28-year-old joined Bayern for £31 million on a four-year deal just nine months ago so he would not come cheap if Chelsea were to try and tempt him to England.

With the Blues currently 10th in the Premier League and unlikely to secure any European football for next season, it may prove a difficult sell.

Conte’s relationship with Vidal could be a factor in such a move, though, as they won three successive Serie A titles together in Turin.

However, Vidal has been an important player this season under Pep Guardiola at the German champions, making 26 Bundesliga appearances so far.

He has also missed just one Champions League game and scored the only goal in Bayern’s 1-0 win over Benfica on Tuesday.

Therefore, trying to persuade him to move away from a successful, ambitious club where he is valued and happy may prove difficult.
