Chelsea interim manager Guus Hiddink says Blues star Willian will continue to play an important role at club despite reports of a £50 million bid from Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande.
Hiddink, who is soon to complete his second spell at Stamford Bridge after replacing Jose Mourinho in December, has seen firsthand the impact of the Brazilian and is no doubt he would be an asset for the incoming Antonio Conte, who will take charge after Euro 2016.
Willian, undoubtedly the Blues’ player of the season, has scored five goals and assisted a further five across 31 league matches.

This week he became a transfer target of former Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari – both previously worked together when Scolari managed the Brazil national team – now coaching Chinese Super League side Guangzhou.
But Hiddink, who describes Willian as a “very down to earth and nice person”, feels there’s more to come from him in a blue shirt.
“He is doing a very good job in a difficult year with his natural ability, he is working very hard to defend and sacrifice himself and he has the attitude to do so,” Hiddink is quoted by Goal as saying.
“That’s why I think he is already and can be in the future a key player for this club.”

An increase in transfer spending by Chinese football clubs has already seen a host of established players in Europe emigrate to the Far East including ex-Chelsea midfielder Ramires, who joined Jiangsu Suning in January for £25 million, while many more continue to be linked such as Diego Costa, Jon Obi Mikel and Oscar.
