In an interview with Mundo Deportivo he said: ‘Of course I miss Barcelona. I was there for a long time; the club changed my life and I had the greatest moments of my career there so I do miss it.’
He left last summer and with a goal on his debut for new manager Jose Mourinho it seemed he had made the right decision but he recalls: ‘It was a strange year for me, and for everyone. After scoring on my debut everything seemed to be going well but then we hit a real downward spiral.
‘We got together in the dressing room and we set about trying to take things forward. In the end we got back on track but not enough so as to put the club where we want it to be.’
Pedro has vowed to fans to make his second year a better one after the difficulties of his debut season with the club in so much turmoil.
Now he wants to pay them back under new manager Antonio Conte.
He said: ‘We know we have a coach who is coming in with a real desire to succeed and put Chelsea back where it should be.’
Pedro seemed less sure about the future when asked about team mate Diego Costa however. He said: ‘We don’t [know if he will stay] but it would be a big loss for us. We want him to stay; let’s see what happens.’
Diego Costa didn't enjoy the most fruitful of campaigns at Chelsea and may leave the club this summer
Del Bosque’s decision to call up three Chelsea players in spite of the club’s recent problems has been questioned.
But he told Diario AS: ‘Chelsea have not had a good season but if you talk to me about individuals I think the Cesc did have a good season and so did Azpilicueta. And Pedro is Pedro – he is a player who always plays well for the Spain team.’
Pedro is hoping that he can put the disappointments of his domestic campaign behind him and win what would be a third major trophy with Spain. Then he would be ready for a second tilt at Premier League success with Chelsea.
He said: ‘I do not regret my move at all. I am very comfortable, it is a great club and I am very happy where I am.
